A World Federalist’s Perspective

When Dr. Shahr-yar Sharei told me of the Climate Democracy and Justice Summit, I thought it was a brilliant idea. Then it was 2017, and he was organizing the first summit. This was before the popularity of climate protest we see today. Dr. Sharei always understood the only solution to our environmental problems was connected to the creation of a global governance framework that will lead to global climate protection and enforcement.
Last month, he found a group of amazing young environmental activist and advocates. Twelve young leaders from all over the world; Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and the pacific islands. The more I learned about the twelve climate ambassadors the more I was inspired by them. We shouldn’t just think of this as another opportunity for a young person, but as educating active representatives who will be promoting environmental world law.
Solving the climate crisis will require a multi-generational effort, so the Climate Democracy and Justice Summit and their climate ambassadors make perfect sense. You can believe that year-by-year as we find more climate ambassadors the public, especially the youth, will become more knowledgeable about what is needed. This is why the Democratic World Federalists (DWFED) will be working to promote this event.
Soon we, along with CUNCR, will be releasing some videos introducing the climate ambassadors to the world. We will also likely be working on producing some content using what we record in Greece this year. If you are interested and would like to watch the event live on Facebook Live, Instagram Live, YouTube, and, possibly, Twitter. You will be able to engage with climate ambassadors and experts. Please share all the content we put out there and participate in the live event online.
